I honestly
don't know how to put my thoughts into words with this book.
This book is
a very deep and heavy read, so if you want a happily ever after this isn’t your
story.
When Asheley
and Will’s mother is shipped off once again to rehab, they believe this time
they are better off without her. They are left to their own devices, and throw
a house party that turns from the typical booze to bloodshed. Through
alternative perspectives, they tell the story of how their life spun more and
more out of their control.
This novel
has a very twisted storyline, and I'm not 100% sure I understand what the
writer is trying to tell us all of the time. I enjoyed the book, but then all
of a sudden it was finished. And I was left with more questions than answers.
I found the
alternating perspective very effective, and I enjoyed this book for the drama.
I finished this book in two days, because it is one of those books that keeps
you wondering what is on the next page, and keeps you thinking for weeks after
you have finished it.
There is an
unexpected twist in literally the last sentence, and that puts a huge question
mark over everything you have just read.
This story
tells the tale of two neglected and abused children, whose lives spun
dangerously out of control...
